Configuring Reports

After creating, reviewing and/or printing certain reports, it may be desirable to change the way reports are
presented. This section will examine the two most commonly used configuration tabs, which are the
“Type A/Type B Exceptions Options” and “Automated Reports” to configure (or re-configure)
information produced in various reports.

Type A/Type B Exceptions Options Report Window

The Type A/Type B Exceptions Options tab allows selection of conditions designated as critical failures
to be included in the Exceptions reports for Type A and Type B SMART telephones. Refer to Table 2.

In the initial screen, select the Type A/Type B Exceptions Options tab, as shown below.

The Type A/Type B Exceptions Options window shown above contains one section called “Critical
Failures” with check boxes, and second section called “Indicator Name #1–8” with drop-down lists. The
selections shown in each group are the factory default settings, and can be changed to suit a variety of
“exceptions” (fault) reporting needs.

When an Exceptions report is generated, the “Critical Failures” selections determine which type of fault
conditions will be included in the report. For example, if the Line Interrupt selection is not checked, then
a phone reporting this fault will be omitted from the Exceptions reports, unless that phone also reports
some other failure that has been selected as a Critical Failure.
