User Authentication
By default, user authentication is done by matching the sender’s email address
(“From”) with a routing address or an email alias of a user in the fax server’s
user list.
2.9.6.1
Authentication in Email Subject
In addition to using the sender’s email address for authentication, it is possible
to require the user to type their password into the subject line of the email. To
enable subject authentication, add a new XML tag
<PasswordInSubject>true</PasswordInSubject> in the file C:\Program
Files\NET SatisFAXtion Email Gateway\PublishedWorkflows\
NS_Email2Fax\NS_Email2Fax_cfg.xml
.
The format of the password is
;p=password
, typed at the end of the email’s
subject line .
Note that if the user account in NET SatisFAXtion doesn’t have a password, the
user should not provide a password in the email subject.

Email Notifications
2.9.7.1
Inbound Email Notifications
The emails that the server sends to notify the user for delivery notifications can
be customized. They are email messages with the extension of
.eml , and can be
found in C:\Program Files\NET SatisFAXtion Email Gateway\ Pub-
lishedWorkflows\NS_Fax2Email .
These files are plain text files in MIME format. It is recommended to edit these
files using Microsoft Notepad.
Fax.recv.eml: Inbound fax notification message.
Fax.recv.err.eml: Inbound fax notification message where the fax failed before
completion.

Delivery & Non-Delivery Notifications
The emails that the server sends to notify the user for delivery notifications can

, and can be
found in
