The exact error codes that are retried are driver-specific. See the appropriate
section in

4.1

for a list of all error codes and whether

they are retryable.

2.6.1.5

Customizing Retryable Errors

In some environments, certain errors are actually retryable when normally they
are not, and vice versa. It is possible to reclassify particular error codes as
retryable with

also_retry_errors

, and others as non-retryable with

dont_retry_errors

. See

4.2.1.1

ICANFax Global

and appropriate section in

4.1

Error Code Reference

for more detail.

2.6.2

Dialing the Same Number More Than Once

By default the fax server will only send one fax to any given number at the
same time. Any additional faxes to that number will queue up in the Scheduled
queue until the first fax completes. This is because most fax numbers are fax
machines that can only handle one fax call at a time.
To disable this behavior, allowing the fax server to send more than one fax to a
number at the same time, run the Change Server Settings utility,

Start Pro

-

grams NET SatisFAXtion

Change Server Settings

. Click on the Fax

Hardware Settings button, and change to the General tab. Check Allow same
fax number to be dialed simultaneously. Click OK.
Note that this is a global setting, and will affect all faxes submitted to the fax
server. If a fax number is sent two or more faxes at the same time but can only
handle a single fax, all but one of the faxes will typically get a “busy” error, and
retry. Since all retries will also happen simultaneously, it is likely some faxes
will still get a “busy” error on all retries and permanently fail.

2.6.3

Outbound Number Validation

Validation is a server feature that qualifies all fax transmissions that go through
the server, regardless of the client that sent the fax. The criteria for the valida-
tion are created, modified and removed in the Validation Editor. The Validation
Editor utility can be accessed from

Start Programs NET SatisFAXtion

Validation Editor

or from the Administration program under

Tools Valida

-

tion Editor

.

You can use the Validation Editor to do any of the following, and more:

Add digits required for dialing, such as when dialing through a PBX or long dis-
tance service.

Remove digits from a telephone number, such as when dialing a local number
that does not require an area code.

Prevent (block) faxing to certain telephone numbers and/or certain dialing ar-
eas.
