Verify Limitation Function

The read data can be verified with multiple parts of the bar code data at one verification perfor-
mance.
The DV-90 can preset the three master data (Master data 1, 2, and 3) in one record number.
The following conditions can be set in the respective master data.

• NONE ....................Does not limit the digits, and verifies all the digits in the input data and the

master data.

• Digit .......................Limits the input data to the specified digits, and verifies it with the master data.
• Date Compare ........Limits the input data to the specified six digits, and compares it with the

date and conditions specified in the DV-90.

• Limit Direction ......Specifies the direction of the limitation in the Verify Limit.
• Limit Start..............Specifies the digit from which to start the verification, along the direction

specified in the Limit Direction.

• Limit Digits ...........Specifies the valid digits counted from the Limit Start, along the direction

of the Limit Direction.

This section describes the performance of “Verify Limit” when using normal verification and
active verification. When using 3-point-A verification and 3-point-B verification, the Verify
Limit of Master data 1 is applied to the First reading. The Verify Limit of Ma-ster data 2 is
applied to the Second reading (same for the Third reading). This function cannot be used in
the step verification.

Reference

• The example above will show the same performance with data that is preset, including

the “? ” and “!” as follows (

refer to 7-16):

“DEF??66666???456”

• It is possible to specify this function for Master data 1 only or for Master data 1 and 2 only.

Note

For presetting the master data using a code reader, it is not possible to preset only the data to be
verified even when the “Verify Limit” is set, because all the digits in the read data are preset.
When you want to use the “Verify Limit”, preset the master data by using the SetUp Soft-
ware, not by reading the data with the code reader. (

Refer to 7-17)
