What is a PLC Link?

This section presents an overview of the PLC and describes how to control it.

What is a PLC Link?

The PLC link enables the DV-90 to write data directly to the PLC (programmable controller) inter-
nal memories (data memories, data registers) via the RS-232C interface.
The PLC link eliminates the need for a communication-related program for the DV-90 to directly
control the PLC internal memories, thus reducing the number of processes required for creating
programs.

Supported PLCs (Series Names)

The following list shows the series names of the supported PLCs.
For the supported model names, refer to page 9-24.

The use of the PLC link has the following restrictions as compared to serial

communication.

•The settings for the connected DV-90 cannot be changed on the PLC link.
•The master data cannot be registered.
•The preset mode, setting mode, and test mode cannot be switched. (The key opera-

tions are valid.)

•Software resetting and send buffer clearing cannot be performed.
•Its long communication time is not suitable for a line that requires high-speed process-

ing.

•The maximum number of data digits that can be processed is 100.
