2.1.1 ProSoft 61850 Configuration Manager Project File
A project in ProSoft 61850 Configuration Manager is intended to be one
configuration setup for one ProSoft Gateway. If there is more than one ProSoft
Gateway, then a different project file will be needed for each one. Multiple
instances of ProSoft 61850 Configuration Manager can be active at the same
time if there is a need to review or compare projects.

ILE / N EW : Create a new ProSoft 61850 Configuration Manager project file.

ILE / O PEN P ROJECT : Open an existing ProSoft 61850 Configuration
Manager project file.

ILE / A DD IED: This is the same action as choosing A DD IED after right-
clicking on IEC 61850 C ONFIGURATION s, described later in this section.

ILE / S AVE : Save your configuration work into a ProSoft 61850 Configuration
Manager project file.

ILE / S AVE A S : Save your configuration in a ProSoft 61850 Configuration
Manager project file with another name and/or in another location.

MPORT C ONFIGURATION : Use this feature to open a configuration file that was
received from someone else. Do not open a project file created on another
PC, because it will not contain all the CID files that were used with it. Instead,
use I
MPORT C ONFIGURATION , and this will include the CID/SCD/ICD files used
to create that configuration.
 E
XPORT C ONFIGURATION : Use this feature to save a configuration with all
associated IED files, so that the entire configuration may be imported into a
new project. For additional details, See Exporting Configuration (page 83)
