TAB to each of the remaining fields to enter the following information
for each check item ID.

Note: You must enter values for ITEM ID, SITE, and NORMAL
LOCATION; the other fields are optional.

Item ID: you must enter an item ID for each check out item.
The Item ID is a unique identifier for individual Check Out Item#s.
Each Item ID is associated with an Item#. For example, with seven
laptop computers, designate Item# as 2001 and enter ten Item IDs,
such as “2001 01,” “2001 02” through “2001 07” to identify the indi-
vidual laptops.
If this check out item is marked as a Kit item, the Item IDs will be
available as Kit Item IDs in the Kit Builder form, hence, we recom-
mend that you choose an easy way to identify this Item ID as a Kit
Item ID
. For example, with ten tool kits, designate the tool box item
number as a kit item and add a K to the item number (such as 9000K 01
through 9000K 010) for the tool box item, since you will assemble tool
kits based on the tool box. This way, each item ID will be readily iden-
tifiable as a Kit Item ID.
(To enter more than one Item ID, press TAB to the next row in the
ITEM ID column and continue adding information.)

Serial Number: enter a serial number for this item ID (this field is
optional).

Site: you must enter the site of this check out item’s normal location.

Normal Location: you must enter the location where the check out
item is stored when it is not checked out. When an item is checked
back into the system, the check out item is automatically placed in
the Normal Location.

Last Mtce Date: if a maintenance transaction is performed on this
item ID, the maintenance date is automatically entered in this field.

Next Maintenance Date: if applicable, updates automatically after
a maintenance transaction is performed based upon the maintenance
period.

Mtce Period: if applicable, enter the maintenance period in days for
the check out item.

Last Calib Date: if a calibration transaction is performed on this
item ID, the transaction date is automatically entered in this field.

Next Calib Date: if applicable, updates automatically after a cali-
bration transaction is performed based upon the calibration period.
