Enter the unique item ID in the Item ID field.
No quantity entry is required because it is always assumed to be a
quantity of 1. Although there are many items, they are identified indi-
vidually with unique item ID numbers in the inventory.
If this is a kit item ID, all item IDs contained in the kit will also be
checked in.
If you enter a new item ID in the Item ID field, a dialog box appears,
notifying you that the item ID was not found and asking you if you
would like to add it the database. Please note that if this is a new kit
item, do not add it from the Check In screen, add the kit item ID at the
Build a Kit screen. Please refer to

“Building a Kit” on page 358

(Select No to close the dialog box and cancel adding the new item
ID. You are returned to the Check In Screen. Enter an item ID
already in the system.)

Select Yes to close the dialog box and add the item ID to the system.
You are returned to the Check In screen. Since you are adding a new
item ID, the Check In screen contains two additional fields: Loca-
tion
and Item #.
