Introduction

You are able to check in “checked out” items, check out items, retire check
out inventory, and build kits via the Batch Portable application.

Check In: returns items to inventory and relieves the customer/
employee of responsibility for the item.

Check Out: checks out or assigns inventory to a customer or
employee. The system identifies the item as being checked out until it
is returned or checked back into the system.

Retire: retires check out inventory, which prevents those items from
being checked out again. They are removed from inventory and placed
in the retire table for history and reporting purposes.

Kit: groups item IDs together under a single kit item ID. Once you cre-
ate a kit, the kit item ID and all item IDs in the kit remain together dur-
ing check out/check in, a kit item ID move, and a kit item ID retire. You
are able to build and maintain kits in the portable application.
