Note: The entries on screens throughout the application may be scanned
or entered via the keypad on the device. If drop-down boxes are available,
entries may also be selected.
To retire an item via the Batch Portable Application, please refer to the
steps that follow.
1. From the Main screen, select the Check In/Out button. The Check In/
Out menu appears.
2. Select Retire from the Check In/Out menu. The Retire screen appears.
3. Enter the unique item ID in the Item ID field. (No quantity entry is
required, because it is always assumed to be a quantity of one.
Although many items exist, they are identified individually with unique
Item ID numbers in the inventory.)
If the item ID already exists in the system, the location is the normal
location (when not checked out) associated with the item ID; hence you
are not required to enter a location. Also, the item number is the item
associated with the item ID; hence you are not required to enter an item
number. If the item ID is a kit item ID, all items associated with the kit
