Disabling
User Account
Control

If you use the Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008 oper-
ating system, you must disable user account control in order for the Intelli-
Track application and DMS database to connect with each other. To disable
User Account Control, please follow these basic steps, or consult your
Windows help.

Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008: To disable User Account Control
in Windows Vista, open the Control Panel. Enter UAC in the Search box;
a link to turn off User Account Control appears onscreen. Click this link;
unmark the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your com-
puter
check box and then click OK. Restart your computer to enact this
change.

Windows 7: Enter UAC in the Start menu or Control Panel search box.
A link appears for you to Change User Account Control Settings; click
this link to reach the User Account Control Settings. You are able to set a
notification slider for user account control; set this slider to Never Notify
to disable User Account Control.

Upgrading the
v8.0 Database

For the v8.0 SQL version, your data will automatically be upgraded during
the installation process.

Upgrading the
v7.x Database

For the v7.0 SQL version, check the database version in the Usys table; if
the database is v7.1, your data will automatically be upgraded during the
installation process. If your database is v7.0, you must run the 7 to 7.1
upgrade script BEFORE you install the DMS v8 software. The upgrade
script is located in the CIO folder on your installation CD. We recommend
backing up your data BEFORE installing DMS v8.1.

Upgrading the
v5.x Database

For the v5.0 SQL version, you must run the 5.0 to 5.1 upgrade script
(50to51.sql) and the 5.2 to 7.1 upgrade script BEFORE you install DMS
v8.1 software. The upgrade scripts are located in the CIO folder on your
installation CD. We recommend backing up your data BEFORE running
the upgrade script.

For the v5.1 or 5.2 SQL version, you must run the 5.2 to 7.1 upgrade script
BEFORE you install the DMS v8.1 software. The upgrade script is located
in the CIO folder on your installation CD. We recommend backing up your
data BEFORE running the upgrade script.
