Cygnus 2 Operating Manual

ENCODE

Encode parameters have a defined list of acceptable values.

Usually two to five values are allowed.

As the user toggles through the list the encoded text is displayed on the screen.

The value stored is an integer.

INTEGER

Integers are 32-bit words.

Although they are stored as signed integers, all current parameters have a
lower limit greater than or equal to 0.

LOCKCODE

The lock code parameter is displayed as "XXXX".

The value is stored as an integer.

Unlock code is 0.

9.3.1.3 Response Packet (Cygnus 2 to Host Message)

<Length><CCB><Timer><Response Message><Checksum>

Length . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Number of bytes including CCB, Timer, and

Response Message. Length bytes and
Checksum are not included in Length Count.
Numeric value from 0 to 65,500 (two bytes)
representing the number of characters in the
response. Two byte values, high and low
order, are required to represent this number.
In order of transmission, the low byte will
precede the high byte.

CCB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Condition Code Byte) = 1 byte binary. MSB

set indicates command packet error.

Timer . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 byte binary, number between 0 and 255,

increments every tenth second.
