Using ControlLogix Gateway to RIO Block Transfer Pass Thru Communications

Click RSWHO. The RSWHO dialog box appears.

Double-click the controller (PLC or SLC) that has the drive connected to its
RIO channel. (Note that the controller, not the drive on RIO, is displayed in
the RSWHO dialog box.) The ControlLogix Gateway Connect to Drive
dialog box reappears.

In the Enter Drive Rack # field, type the RIO rack number of the drive.
The rack number is specified in octal and is set in the communications
module.

In the Enter Starting Group # field, type the RIO starting group number of
the drive. The RIO starting group number is set in the communications
module. Valid numbers are 0, 2, 4, and 6.

Select PLC Type or SLC Type.

7.

If you are using an SLC, type the slot number of the RIO scanner in the
Enter SN/B Slot Number field. This field appears only if you have selected
SLC Type.

8.

If you are using a 1395 drive, select Use 1395 Protocol.

9.

Click OK.The DriveTools32 application is now communicating with the
drive. If you are prompted to create a new database, click Yes.

Important: If a prompt appears to alert you that the application failed to
communicate with the drive, refer to Chapter 16, Troubleshooting.
