Radar
Window
Pane
The section in the divided window pane layout of Jeppesen
Workboat Navigator devoted to displaying and manipulating
radar data. The Radar window pane location on-screen and all
Jeppesen Workboat Navigator layout can be manipulated using
View Manger.
Chart
Window
Pane
The section in the divided window pane layout of Jeppesen
Workboat Navigator devoted to displaying and manipulating
charts. Like the Radar window pane, the Chart window pane
location can be manipulated using View Manger. The Chart
window pane can also have Radar data overlaid on top of the
chart. Radar overlay exactly reflects data from the Radar window
pane.
Automatic
Radar
Plotting Aid
(ARPA)
ARPA (Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) targets are those acquired
automatically by the radar.
ARPA data is received by Jeppesen Workboat Navigator as
NMEA data strings (TTM or TLL).
Mini
Automatic
Radar
Plotting Aid
(MARPA)
MARPA (Mini Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) targets are those you
manually tell the radar to track. MARPA Targets can be acquired
by right-clicking on the Radar window pane and choosing Acquire
Target Mode from the right-click Context Menu. The cursor
changes to the Acquire Target cursor and every left-click in the
Radar window pane selects a target to acquire.
InSight Radar 2 - Black Box (IR2-BB)
What is the IR2-BB?
The Nobeltec ® InSight Radar 2 - Black Box (IR2-BB)™ is a specially designed
hardware component that converts the analog output from most existing industry-
standard radars into a digital stream that can be used by Jeppesen Workboat
Navigator. Connecting this device to your computer is accomplished through a
standard USB port.
The IR2-BB and Jeppesen Workboat Navigator provide you with the tools to view
radar transmissions received through the IR2-BB in a standard radar display on-
screen or overlaid directly on top of your electronic charts.
How Does the IR2-BB Work?
The IR2-BB essentially "repeats" radar data from your traditional, analog Radar
to the computer. Depending on your radar make and model, tuning or other
adjustments may be required to get the best radar image. An advantage to using
the Jeppesen Workboat Navigator to view radar data is that you can continue to use
your existing Radar plotter device for comparison and safety.

The radar image on your plotter device may look slightly different
than the image shown by Jeppesen Workboat Navigator.
