Information On The All Targets List

The Target List information includes all known targets in the area detected by target
tracking equipment.
The list appears in order by the distance of the target from the boat from nearest to
farthest.
Use the scroll up and down arrows if the number of targets is too many to fit in the
window pane. You can also access River AIS information, target detail, messages
and voyage data from the Targets panel. When you click the [All Targets] button
you will see the Filter and Dangerous check boxes that allow you to control what
targets appear in the panel to only those that meet the applicable criteria. You can
specify the dangerous target criteria with the CPA/TCPA thresholds set under the
System Menu | Tools/Settings | Options | Targets | Target Threat Settings.
Fields in the All Targets sub panel include:

Type - The type of target represented in the list. ARPA/MARPA targets appear as
a type of Radar. All other types are AIS targets (see figure 13.1 - Targets List).
Name - The name of the target reported by the AIS unit or MR# for MARPA or
name of ARPA reported by radar.
SOG - The speed over ground of the target.
CPA - Closest Point of Approach. The closest distance that will be achieved
between your boat and the tracked target, based on your boat’s speed and
direction and the target’s speed and direction.
TCPA - Time to Closest Point of Approach. The time remaining until CPA.
R - River AIS target.

River AIS

Click the River AIS button in the Targets panel to open the River AIS sub panel.
River AIS targets meet certain criteria that gives the system the ability to estimate
where your boat and the target are going to pass (DPP) and when they are going to
pass (TPP). The target must be on a stretch of river that contains mile mark data.
The River AIS panel displays targets that meet one of the following criteria:

The target is within .5 miles of your vessel.
The target is assigned a passing plan.
The target is eligible for River AIS calculation, it is being calculated, and it
appears in this panel.

Only 10 targets will be displayed on this panel at the same time. If no targets are
within a .5 miles radius and no targets have a passing plan set, the closest 10 River
AIS targets will be calculated and displayed in this panel. If you select a target that
is eligible for River AIS calculation, it will be shown in place of one of the other
targets in this panel. If you assign a target with a passing plan, it will always be
