Past Track Sub-Panel

The Past Track sub-panel gives you the ability to display one of your boat’s past
tracks by selecting a start and end time in a playback file. Past Tracks appear as a
blue dashed line on the chart once you select the start and end times. If you have
access to more than one boat’s voyage data, you can select different boats from the
Boat Name drop-down list.
The track recalls your boat’s history file and recorded GPS signals to create this
visual record. If the data contains gaps, such as GPS interruption, the past track
reflects that.
If you decide to convert a past track that contains gaps, Workboat Navigator will
request that you correct for each gap by closing it or creating an individual Nav
Object for it.
The following buttons appear in the Boat History - Past Track sub-panel:

Show. Click this button after you have selected Start and End times for the
voyage data you want to use for your Past Track to make the past Track appear
in the Chart window. Once you click this button, the past track appears on the
chart as a blue dashed line and the Clear button becomes available in the sub-
panel. Click Goto Start or Goto End to view different parts of the route. Click
Save to save this past track as a route.
Clear. Click this button if you have displayed the route and it will be removed
from the chart.
Save. Click this button to convert the Past Track. If a gap exists in the Past
Track, you can choose to close the gap for the Nav Object or create a new Nav
Object for the two points that make the gap. You can also cancel the conversion
process at the point where a gap is encountered but a Nav Object is successfully
created for the portion of the past track up to that point.
Make Route. Click this button to make a route from using the voyage data files
that match the Start and End times. When you click the Make Route button,
Workboat Navigator converts the past track to a regular route and opens the
route properties window.
Goto Start. Click this button to move the Chart orientation to the beginning of
the Past Track.
Goto End. Click this button to go to the end of the Past Track.
