Chart Management

Modifying Chart Display

You may customize the appearance of vector charts by turning on and off data
layers. Click on the Chart, and then click Context Menu | Layers to see all
available data layers that can be turned On or Off.

Depth Units on Vector Charts

Jeppesen Workboat Navigator allows you to configure Depth Units on vector charts.
To change Depth Units:

Click System Menu | Tools/Settings | Options | Units.
Choose the depth units you want to display.

Chart Quilting

Quilting is the seamless connection of two or more charts (e.g. the charts are
"quilted" together"). Jeppesen Workboat Navigator defaults to quilting charts of the
same resolution and quality whenever possible.
Some low-resolution and skewed charts are not available to be quilted by default.
Use the Data Manager to locate unused charts and place a check-mark in the Use
check box, or by using the Chart Manager to add unused charts to Chart Quilting.

Radar/Chart Overlay

You can overlay the Radar image directly on top of the Chart window pane. Radar
overlay can help you analyze radar data in context, giving meaning to what can
often be a confusing display of radar blobs.
When radar overlay is on, the important radar information is also displayed in the
corners of the Chart window pane.

WARNING:

Radar Overlay on your electronic charts requires a high speed and

well-adjusted compass. Slight deviation errors are significantly magnified
with radar overlay. Make sure that you have set up your radar and digital
compass correctly.

TIP:

Turn Radar Overlay on by clicking in the Chart window pane and selecting

Radar Overlay from the Chart Context Menu.

REMEMBER:

The Auto Range feature keeps the chart scale and the radar range

synchronized, making it easy to understand the radar in context with the chart.
To change the radar range, zoom out using any of the chart zoom tools.
