5 - Chart Management

Orientation

North Up. Some raster charts are produced with orientation other than North Up.
You can orient these charts using the North Up setting.
Head Up. This orientation rotates the chart to always display according to your
heading, boat icon pointing up.
Leg Up. This option rotates the Chart to the intended course between the most
recent Waypoint and next Waypoint in your active route. Leg Up is useful when
your ship is yawing excessively. This option only works when you have an
activated route in a Chart window pane.

Move Boat (DR)

This feature allows you to place the boat anywhere on the Chart window pane. You
can do this two ways:

Left-click on the Chart window pane; select Context Menu and left-click the Move
Boat (DR)
button. Your mouse cursor will change into a “Move Boat” cursor.
The next click of your mouse on the Chart window pane places the boat in the
location you clicked.
Right-click on the Chart window pane in a location you wish to move the boat.
The Chart Context Menu will appear. Select Move Boat (DR) from the Context
Menu. Your boat will be placed at the location you right-clicked.

You can then proceed to navigate from this new location. This feature is meant to
help you navigate when instrumentation is no longer functioning. Use the Dead
Reckoning navigation tools to establish course and speed (see Chapter 9 - Using
Nav Objects
).
If you try to use the Move Boat feature while you are receiving GPS/Heading
signals, Workboat Navigator automatically switches to the Dead Reckoning mode. If
you were not receiving signals, the system does not switch to the Dead Reckoning
mode but will move the boat.
To stop using Dead Reckoning, right-click on the boat and select Dead Reckoning
from the Context Menu. The check box will clear and Dead Reckoning will stop.

Properties

This option changes focus to the SysInfo window pane, Properties panel. Properties
for the current chart or Nav Object are displayed in the Properties panel.
