Syntax

:SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN:DNS <dns>
:SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN:DNS?

Description

Set the DNS (Domain Name Service) address.
Query the current DNS address.

Explanation

 This command is only available when the manual IP configuration mode is

enabled (

:SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN:MANualip[:STATe]

).

 The format of <dns> is nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn; the first nnn ranges from 1 to 223

(except 127), the other three range from 0 to 255.

 You are recommended to ask your network administrator for an address

available.

 The new setting will only take into effect when

the

:SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN:APPLy

command is executed to apply the

network parameter currently set after this command is send.

Return Format

The query returns the DNS address, for example, 172.16.3.2.
