IFB

Use the

IFB

screen to configure IFB definitions and options.

IFB

(Interrupted Fold Back) is a

system in which there is one-way communication from a director to on-air talent or a remote
location. An example of an IFB system is a remote reporter needs to hear the news feed to
know their cue to report and a director needs to interrupt the news feed to tell the reporter
information, such as how much time is left before commercial break.

IFB Field

Use the

IFB

field to select the desired IFB to configure.

Input Field

Use the

Input

field to select the IFB program input port. The program input always routes to

the IFB output (except when interrupting the IFB).

Output Field

Use the

Output

field to select the IFB output port. The IFB Output is the audio heard by the

talent. Audio from the input port (typically, program input audio) is routed to this output port,
except when the IFB is interrupted.
