2. Enable the FDL and its source.
3. Configure the IP parameters for the path that the FDL will use. Refer to the
FDL Setup paragraphs on page 6-39 to configure the FDL IP parameters.
4. Determine if the FDL will be the Default Gateway or if it will need a Static
Route assigned to it. If Default Gateway is needed go to FDL IP Routing
using The Default Gateway on page 6-38. If a Static Route is needed go to
FDL IP Routing using A Static Route on page 6-38.

A simple method for routing the FDL is to set the Default Gateway to
be the FDL interface (see the gateway selection section).
Refer to the
FDL IP Routing using The Default Gateway paragraphs to assign the
FDL address to the Default Gateway
Option set option { on | off }
Enables or disables the FDL. The WAN that the FDL will be using must be in
ESF mode.
Source
XCON MODULE set source (wan1) [ wan1 | wan2 ]
Selects which network WAN module the FDL will use as its source.
XC2T MODULE set source (wan1) [ t1-1 | t1-2 | wan1 | wan2 ]
Selects which network T1 module the FDL will use as its source.
FDL IP Routing
using The Default
Gateway This command enters the ip gateway node to enable and configure the Default
Gateway to the FDL interface. Only use the Default Gateway for the FDL if the
Default Gateway is not being used for any other purpose.
From the CONFIG node top level enter:
(top)>> ROUTER
(ROUTER)>> ip
(ROUTER ip)>> gateway
(ROUTER ip gateway)>> set
gateway
option (off) [ off | on ]:on

FDL IP Routing
using A Static
Route This command enters the Static Routes node to enable and configure a Static
Route for the FDL.
From the CONFIG node top level enter:

(ROUTER ip)>> static-routes
(ROUTER ip static-routes)>>set
static-routes
dest-network "0.0.0.0"Enter the IP address for the FDL
netmask (0.0.0.0): Enter the net mask for the FDL
