CONFIGURE
THE TRUNK
MODULE

Use this module to program the SHARK™ IAD to correctly process the
signaling of a network trunk side. These parameters need to be programmed
for every DS0 that passes from one T1 module through another T1 module. Up
to four T1s from the Central office can be connected to T1 modules installed in
the SHARK™ IAD's WAN-1, WAN-2 and XC2T ports. These T1 circuits may
be groomed, re-bundled and attached to a T1 network connected to T1 modules
installed in the SHARK™ IAD's LAN-1 and LAN-2 ports. Both sides of the
cross connect must be programmed with signaling parameters. The signaling
choices are the same for each DS0, consequently, only the programming
sequence for one DS0 is shown. The stepping mode will continue through
every DS0 until all possibilities are exhausted. You may end the stepping
mode at any time by entering CNTL X and the return key. If you do not use the
stepping mode you may access the specific circuit as shown in the command
description below.

These parameters may be entered in the stepping mode as shown below. Enter
the type and tmb arguments for each DS0 in numerical order.

channel # = [1-24]
type
=[ clear | fxsls | fxsgs | plar3 | plar4 | fxogs | other ]

Specifies the type of signaling to be used in the circuit designated by channel #.

clear--Clear channel. No signaling bits used resulting in a full 64kbps band
width per channel(DS0) Example of circuits are Voice Grade Data and
DDS Data.

fxsls--Foreign Exchange Station Loop Start.

fxsgs--Foreign Exchange Station Ground Start.

plar3--Private Line Automatic Ringdown type D3

plar4--Private Line Automatic Ringdown type D4

fxogs--Foreign Exchange Office Ground Start.

other--Use this selection when the signalling type is not one of the above
