5-2.4 Rear Axle Chain Adjustment.

1.

Tip snow thrower forward so it rests on auger
housing.

2.

Loosen two hex nuts at wheel axle on the right
hand side of snow thrower housing. See Fig-
ure 5-15

3.

Lift up on right wheel to take slack out of chain
as you retighten nuts.

4.

If chain is still loose, readjust.

Auger Chain Adjustment.

1.

Loosen hex bolts on each side of auger hous-
ing.

2.

Place a screwdriver on chain adjuster and
pivot by lifting up on the screwdriver to take the
slack out of the chain.

3.

Tighten hex bolts.

4.

If chain is still loose, readjust.

NOTE

Lubricate all chains, bearings, gears and shift-
ing mechanism with engine oil at least once a
season or after every 25 hours of operation.
Avoid getting oil on V-belts and pulleys.

5-2.6

Belt Removal and Replacement.

WARNING

Remove spark plug wire from spark plug and
ground. Drain gasoline from fuel tank, or place
a piece of plastic film underneath gas cap to
prevent gasoline from leaking.
