2.Remove the self-tapping screw and casing
clamp which holds the throttle cable to the
engine. Disconnect the throttle control cable
“Z” fitting from the throttle lever. See Figure 3-
83.
3.Remove the belt cover and shift cover as an
assembly. Remove the nuts from the belt cover
and the nut and bolt securing the shift cover
bracket to the gear case. See Figure 3-84.
4.Remove belt from gear case pulley. (Not nec-
essary to remove belt from engine.) Discon-
nect the clutch cable from idler bracket and
remove the gear case pulley. See Figure 3-85.
