10. Retract the wedge assembly fully.

11. Shut the engine off and fill the reservoir

assembly to the correct level.

12. Start the engine and extend and retract the

wedge assembly 10 to 12 full cycles to remove
trapped air in the system. See Figure 6-46.

NOTE

The log splitter hydraulic system is self bleed-
ing.

13. Shut the engine off and fill the reservoir

assembly to the correct level. See Figure 6-47.

NOTE

Never allow the reservoir fluid to drop below
the minimum level, or damage may occur to
the hydraulic pump.

IMPORTANT: Some hydraulic fluid may over-
flow from the vent plug as the system tempera-
ture increases and the hydraulic fluid expands
and seeks its own level.
