Before you configure PIM-SM, complete the following tasks:

Configure any unicast routing protocol so that all devices in the domain are interoperable at the
network layer.

Determine the IP address of a static RP and the ACL rule defining the range of multicast groups to
which the static RP is designated.

Determine the C-RP priority and the ACL rule defining the range of multicast groups to which each

C-RP is designated.
