5. Operation

Explanation

Action

Appears after switching on the

instrument. Indicates that the

instrument is being initialized.

Do not press any buttons; wait

until the device is fully initialized

and the next message appears.

The user is prompted to check

the loading bath.

Open the loading door, pull out

the loading drawer and loading

bath. Then check whether there

is a lid on the loading bath or

an empty rack inside it (remove

both if they are present).

The loading drawer has been

pulled out.

Push in the drawer and close the

loading door.

The user is prompted to move

the dispenser into the park

position.

Move the dispenser into the

prime position.

The user is prompted to press

PRIME.

Press the PRIME button.

Dispensing pressure is built up

in the coverslip mountant bottle.

Wait until dispensing pressure

has been reached in the cov-

erslip mountant bottle and the

pump noise is no longer audible.

The display of the Leica CV5030 is used to display status and error messages that provide in-

formation about the current status of the instrument. Status messages always appear in the

bottom line of the display. The top line displays the operating status of the instrument. The

following table compiles all status messages. In addition, it indicates to the user which ac-

tion to carry out. All error messages displayed on the control unit of the device are listed in

Chapter 8.1
