Workstation operation

6.2 Operation as ST5020 – CV5030 workstation

Fig. 42

In this case, both instruments are connected to each other by a TS5025 Transfer Station.

Unlike the ST5010 workstation, both instruments - the ST5020 and CV5030 - communicate with each

other.

• From the station programmed last in the stain-

ing protocol, the specimen slide holder (

Fig. 43

,

77) is removed by the transport arm (

Fig. 43

, 82)

of the ST5020 and conveyed into the TS5025

Transfer Station.

• The transfer arm (

Fig. 43

, 82) of the transfer

station takes over conveying the specimen

slide holder into the loading bath of the robotic

coverslipper.

• The message "STAINER PROC" appears on the

display.

• For the communication between the

stainer and coverslipper, insert the

serial interface cable (87) included

in the standard scope of delivery into

both instruments using the plug con-

nections (86.1/86.2).

• For this purpose, the socket with the

designation SERIAL (59) is provided on

the rear side of the robotic coverslipper.

• In workstation mode, the robotic

coverslipper must be ready to start

("READY") so that the specimen slides

can be processed properly.

• If the CV5030 is not ready to start and

requires user intervention, this is in-

dicated by an alarm message on the

screen of the ST5020, accompanied

by an alarm sound.

An automatic transport of the speci-

men slide holders is ensured only if

"CV" was programmed in the staining

protocols as the last station.
