software products must also be upgraded to compatible
versions.
• For a networked automation system, upgrade the computer
hosting the Network Directory Server first, and then upgrade
the client computers on the network.
• After installing FactoryTalk Services Platform, reinstall the
software products that you plan to use in the automation
system. All of the participating FactoryTalk-enabled software
products must be compatible with this version of FactoryTalk
Services Platform.
To upgrade FactoryTalk Services Platform:
1. Run the RSBizWare installation DVD. The RSBizWare
installation wizard appears.
NOTE
It is recommended that you read the RSBizWare software release
notes before installing the software. The release notes may
contain more up-to-date information than was available when
this document was published. A shortcut to the release notes is
available in the installation wizard on the RSBizWare installation
DVD.
2. On the Welcome page, click FactoryTalk Metrics
>
Installation
> Install FactoryTalk Services Platform.
The installation wizard checks for installed applications, and
then displays a message informing you that a previous version
of FactoryTalk Services Platform is installed. Click OK to
proceed with the upgrade.
The previous version of FactoryTalk Services Platform is
removed and the installation wizard appears.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
