Installing RSBizWare Chapter 3

You can manage the privileges and permissions that a user has either
by assigning privileges and permissions directly to the user or by
assigning privileges and permissions to a user group, and then
placing the user in one or more user groups. A user belonging to a
group will inherit the privileges and permissions that have been
assigned to the group. Since users can belong to multiple groups,
groups can be broken down into logical areas of application
functionality.

For information on privileges available with individual client

activations, see "FactoryTalk Historian and FactoryTalk Metrics
privileges (page 84)".

To assign application privileges to users:

1. In the Service Console, expand Security Services Manager >

Administration.

2. Click Users and Groups.
3. In the right pane of the window, under Users, click the user

name for which you want to assign application privileges.

4. Click Edit User Properties.

The Security Control dialog box appears.

5. In the Privileges tab, in the Server Type list, select the type of

the server for which you want to assign privileges.

6. In the Server list, select a server of the specified server type.
7. Under Place a check..., select the check box to the left of the

privilege that you want to assign to the user.
If the user has inherited privileges from a group, the privileges
are indicated with the group icon:

.

8. Click OK.
