"Enabling network COM+ access for COM+ connectors in
FactoryTalk Transaction Manager (page 284)".
COM+ network access is disabled by default on Windows 2003
Server Standard Edition Server platforms. On these platforms,
COM+ can be used only locally by default.
To enable the network COM+ access for COM+ connectors in
FactoryTalk Transaction Manager:
1. Open Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
4. Click Application Server, and then click Details.
5. Select the check box next to Enable network COM+ access,
and then click OK.
6. Click Next, and then click Finish.
To configure the Oracle 10g R2 Instant Client:
1. Install the Oracle 10g R2 Instant Client with default settings.
2. Install the Oracle patch for defect #4951251.
NOTE
If you do not install the Oracle patch for defect #4951251,
FactoryTalk Transaction Manager will not find the Oracle SQLNet
connections defined in the tnsnames.ora file.
3. Open the following directory:
c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\Client_1
4. In the Client_1 folder, create a new folder,
Network
.
5. In the Network folder, create a new folder,
Admin
.
6. From the database server system, copy the tnsnames.ora file to
the Admin folder.
