Chapter 10 Configuring data collection

12. Click Finish.

At this point, there are no FactoryTalk Transaction Manager
transactions in the configuration. FactoryTalk Transaction Manager
transactions are created when users define time-series data collection
(FactoryTalk Historian Classic) or performance parameters
(FactoryTalk Metrics).

For information on defining time-series data collection, refer to the

FactoryTalk Historian Classic User Guide.

For information on defining performance parameters, refer to the
FactoryTalk Metrics User Guide.

After transactions have been created in the FactoryTalk Transaction

Manager configuration, the configuration must be started for data
collection to occur.

To start a configuration:

1. Open the Service Console.
2. Expand Security Services Manager > FactoryTalk

Transaction Manager Configurations > FactoryTalk
Transaction Manager

3. Right-click your configuration, and then click Start

Configuration.
The traffic light icon next to the configuration changes to .

To stop a configuration:

1. Open the Service Console.
2. Expand Security Services Manager > FactoryTalk
