RSBizWare services connect to Oracle using ODBC. Use the

ODBC Data Source Administrator to create a new ODBC
connection.

To create a new ODBC connection to Oracle:

1. Open Data Sources (ODBC) from the Administrative Tools.

The ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog box appears.

2. Click the System DSN tab.
3. Click Add.

The Create New Database Source dialog box appears.

4. Select the Oracle ODBC Driver.
5. Give the data source a name and description. For example,

RSBizWare

, and

RSBizWare database

.

6. Type the service name and the Oracle user name that you

defined in the Net Configuration connection.

This section is intended for organizations that want to use Oracle as
a database solution for the FactoryTalk Historian Classic

application. These are suggested database settings that should help
you improve performance using FactoryTalk Historian Classic
time-series analysis capabilities. It is assumed that you have already
installed the RSBizWare software and that you have accepted a
typical installation. After you have created your Oracle RSBizWare
database, you will need to configure the following settings before you
attempt to start the Information Services Manager.

Change the tablespace configuration settings as follows:

DATA Tablespace:

• Change the Size to 500 MB.
