• You cannot copy individual cells. If you attempt to copy an
individual cell, the entire row (all columns, including
internally hidden columns) will be copied.
• You cannot copy items when a configuration is running or if
the configuration has pending edits.
Pasting
Consider the following rules when pasting FactoryTalk data points:
• You must use Ctrl+V.
• You can paste FactoryTalk data points in/from Microsoft
Excel.
• You can paste one or more rows into the data point grid. All
rows appear at the bottom of the data point grid. All internally
hidden columns are ignored.
• You can paste existing data points into the data point grid.
FactoryTalk Transaction Manager recognizes that the data
points already exist and prompts you to:
• Modify the existing data point
• Create a new data point
• Cancel the paste operation
• You cannot paste one or more individual cells in a row.
• You cannot paste a data point that does not contain either a
valid value or an empty string for the following collection
parameter columns in the data point grid:
• Data type
• Mode
• Data valid units
• Data retrieval units
• Substitution policy
