Chapter 8 Controlling access to your RSBizWare system

• The FactoryTalk Historian Classic Server activations and the

10 RSBizWare Runtime Client activations are assigned to the
appropriate Information Services Manager.

• A FactoryTalk Historian Classic Author activation is assigned

to each of the 6 authoring users (2 per shift).

FactoryTalk Historian for Batch activation is based on the total

number of Batch Units or Batch Servers in your system and the
activations are cumulative. For example, you can install two 3-unit
activations for a total of 6 units.

NOTE

It is not necessary to assign FactoryTalk Historian for Batch activations to
specific servers. However, you will need to assign your FactoryTalk
Historian Classic server activation to a server and your RSBizWare client

activation to users.

There are the following types of activation options:

FactoryTalk Historian for Batch module for 3 units

Use this activation for systems with up to three S88 defined
units.
The activation includes a FactoryTalk Historian Classic Server

with 150 Reporting Tag Limit activation and an RSBizWare
Single-User Author Client activation.

FactoryTalk Historian for Batch module connection to 1

Batch Server
Use this activation for systems with a single Batch Server.
The activation includes a FactoryTalk Historian Classic Server
with 300 Reporting Tag Limit activation and an RSBizWare
Single-User Author Client activation.

FactoryTalk Historian for Batch module connection to 1-3

Batch Servers
Use this activation for systems with up to three Batch Servers.
