Blindstitch/Zig-Zag Blindstitch Point invisible/Zig-zag invisible
Blindstitching provides a durable hem finish
that is almost invisible. The programmed
stitch width of the blindstitch is narrower
than other stitch patterns in order to be more
suitable for the application. Use zig-zag
blindstitch 10 when hemming medium-
weight stretch fabrics. Use blindstitch
9 for
hemming woven fabrics.
Blindstitch Hems
® Stitch: blindstitch 9 or 10.
® Stitch width: programmed or to suit
application or fabric.
® Stitch length: programmed or to suit
application or fabric.

® Blindstitch hem foot.
We recommend making a test sample first
using scraps of the material you will be sew­
ing the hem on.
® Attach the blindstitch hem foot to the
machine, as described on page 10.
® Select the blindstitch 9 for woven fabric.
Select zig-zag blindstitch 10 for stretch
fabric. Use the programmed stitch for
this application.
1. Prepare hem in the usual way. It is advis­
able to baste the hem.
2. With the wrong side of work uppermost,
turn the hem under, creating a soft fold
from the top edge of hem.
3. Position hem under the foot with the soft
fold resting against the right side of the
foot, as illustrated.
4. Lower the presser foot. Stitch so that the
straight or narrow zig-zag stitches pierce
the soft fold of the work. Adjust the
presser foot and width, if necessary, by
turning the screw on the right side of the
foot. Turning the screw away from you will
move the shank closer to the hem fold and
therefore allow the wider stitch to further
pierce the fold of the fabric. While stitch­
ing, guide the hem edge in a straight line
and feed soft fold evenly against the right
side of the foot.

Nous recommandons d’effectuer un essai
préalable à l’aide de retailles du tissu qui
servira pour l’ourlet.
® Fixez le pied pour ourlet invisible à la ma­
chine, ainsi qu’expliqué à la page 10.
® Sélectionnez le point invisible 9 pour les
tissus tissés. Sélectionnez le zIg-zag invi­
sible
10 pour les tissus extensibles. Utilisez
le point programmé pour cet usage.
1. Préparez l’ourlet de façon normale. Il est
préférable de faufiler l’ourlet.
2. Ayant placé l’envers du tissu sur le des­
sus, repliez l’ourlet en-dessous, créant
ainsi un pli mou à partir de la lisière supé­
rieure de l’ourlet.
3. Placez l’ourlet sous le pied de sorte que
le pli mou repose contre le côté droit du
pied, ainsi qu’illustré.
4. Abaissez le pied presseur. Faites la cou­
ture de sorte que les points droits ou zig­
zags étroits percent le pli mou. Réglez la
largeur et le pied, si nécessaire, en tour­
nant la vis sur le côté droit du pied. En
tournant la vis vers l’arrière, le talon se
rapproche du pli de l’ourlet et élargit le
point pour continuer à percer ie pli dans le
tissu. Tout en cousant, guidez la lisière de
¡’ourlet en ligne droite et entraînez le pli
mou uniformément contre le côté droit
du pied.
Punto ciego/Punto ciego
en zig-zag
El punto ciego asegura un acabado de do­
bladillo durable casi invisible. El ancho de
punto programado del punto ciego es más
estrecho que en los demás modelos de
punto para que corresponda mejor a la apli­
cación. Use el punto ciego en zig-zag

para dobladillar telas elásticas de peso me­
diano. Use el punto ciego 9 para dobladillar
telas tejidas.
Dobladillos de punto ciego
• Punto: punto ciego 9 o 10.
• Ancho del punto: programado o de
acuerdo con la aplicación o la tela.
• Longitud del punto: programada o de
acuerdo con la aplicación o la tela.
• Plancha de aguja para uso general.
• Prénsatelas para dobladillo para
punto ciego. •
Recomendamos que haga Usted primero
una prueba en pedazos de tela en la cual
Usted realizará el dobladillo.
• Sujete el prénsatelas de dobladillo para
punto ciego en la máquina, tal como se
describe en la página 10.
® Seleccione el punto ciego 9 para telas te­
jidas. Seleccione el punto ciego en zig-zag
10 para telas elásticas. Use el punto pro­
gramado para esta aplicación.
1. Prepare el dobladillo de la manera habi­
tual. Se recomienda hilvanarlo.
2. Con el revés de la obra arriba, doble el
dobladillo adentro, creando un doblez
suave desde el borde superior del dobla­
dillo.
3. Posicione ei dobladillo debajo del prénsa­
telas con el doblez suave contra el lado
derecho del mismo, como se ilustra.
4. Baje el prénsatelas. Dé puntos de manera
que los puntos rectos o estrechos en zig­
zag penetren el doblez suave. Ajuste el
prénsatelas y el ancho si hace falta, gi­
rando el tornillo en el lado derecho del
prénsatelas. El hecho de girar ei tornillo,
alejándolo de Usted, acercará el vástago
más al doblez y por eso permitirá que el
punto más ancho perfore aun más el do­
blez de la tela. Durante la costura, guíe al
borde del dobladillo en línea recta y
avance el doblez suave uniformemente
contra el lado derecho del prénsatelas.
