Modify Parameters

To change a parameter, press the [F7] key on the SETUP screen. This will begin the selection
process of a parameter as described in the section entitled "Select a Parameter/Variable". The
selection process to change a parameter can also be initiated while displaying the members of a
parameter group on the DISPLAY screen (Figure 57) by pressing the [F7] key.

When you successfully have selected a parameter, the MODIFY PARAMETER (Figure 39) screen
will be displayed. This screen shows:

the name of the parameter for which you are making the changes (ie. Rated motor volt).

the tag code for the parameter, (ie. 22).

the minimum and maximum allowable limits to which the parameter must be set, (ie. 1000
to 7200).

the units in which the parameter data is being displayed.

the actual value of the parameter contained in the drive.

To be allowed to make changes to the parameter, the terminal must be in the Unrestricted mode.
(You will be able to view the screen however, pressing the data entry keys will have no effect). If
you are not in the correct mode, press the [F8] key in order to gain access to the parameter.
Refer to the section entitled "Enter/Modify a Password (Access)" for further information on the
operation to change the mode.

Having gained access, use the data entry keys [0]-[9] to enter the new value. The [-] key can be
typed at any time to enter a negative value. The [.] key is used to enter a decimal point for
fractional values. The entered new value can be edited by pressing the [backspace] key. This
key will delete the right most character (ie. number, decimal point or negative sign) shown on the
screen. Press the [enter] key to accept the new value as shown in Figure 40. If the new value
you entered is outside the limits defined, the new value will be pegged at the closest limit. For
example: if you entered 900 when the minimum value was 1000, the new value will show 1000.

Some data must be entered in HEX. To accomplish this, use the cursor up/down keys to scroll
through the values 0-F for the right most digit. To accept the digit and enter to the right of the
current digit, press the right cursor key. Press the [Enter] key to accept the value.
