INSTALLATION

1557-UM050E-EN-P – June 2013

Figure 8.3

– Fan Hood Installation (Rotron Type Fans shown)

Access to the fan terminal blocks is gained by removal of the top plate of the ventilation hood.

After installation of ventilation hoods, replace the hardware from the lifting angles in the appropriate
threaded holes at the top of the drive. This prevents dust entering the drive through these holes.

The drive should be securely fastened in an upright position on a level surface to allow proper functioning
of the internal devices.

After the drive has been placed in position, the floor mounting bolts may be installed and tightened. The
location of these bolts is shown in the customer outline drawings specific to each drive. A typical location
of floor mounting bolts is shown in figure 8.4. Floor mounting hardware is to be 1/2" anchor bolts.

The mechanical door interlocks should be tested, if they do not function properly it may be because the
installation site is not level. Adjustments may be required.

The mechanical interlock system is designed to prevent:

(1) Opening of medium voltage compartment doors when the drive-isolating switch is closed.

(2) Operating the drive-isolating switch with any medium voltage doors open.
