Managing network access devices

To configure a network access devices in the Nortel SNAS domain, use
the following command:

/cfg/domain #/switch <switch ID>

where

switch ID

is the ID or name of the switch you want to

configure.

The Switch menu appears.

The Switch menu includes the following options:

/cfg/domain #/switch <switch ID>

followed by:

name <name>

Names or renames the switch. After you have
defined a name for the switch, you can use
either the switch name or the switch ID to
access the Switch menu.

name

is a string that must be unique in the

domain. The maximum length of the string
is 255 characters.

type ERS8300|ERS5500

Specifies the type of network access devices.
Valid options are:

ERS8300

—an Ethernet Routing Switch

8300

ERS5500

—an Ethernet Routing Switch

5510, 5520, or 5530

The default is

ERS8300

.

mgmtproto<mgmtproto>

Sets the Switch Management Protocol.

ip <IPaddr>

Specifies the IP address of the switch.

port <port>

Specifies the TCP port used for Nortel SNAS
communication. The default is port 5000.

hlthchk

Accesses the Healthcheck menu, in order
to configure settings for the Nortel SNAS
to monitor the health of the switch (see

“Monitoring switch health” (page 73)

).

vlan

Accesses the Switch Vlan menu, in order to
map the Green and Yellow VLANs configured
on switch (see

“Mapping the VLANs” (page

66)

).
