coupling interval is slowly extended until the simulated ECG signal falls just
outside the SRP at which time it is sensed by the pacemaker, resetting the
escape interval, resulting in a longer pacing pulse interval.

Interactive Pacemaker/ ECG Simulation

Tests are performed simultaneously for both atrial and ventricular channels.
The response of the pacemaker to a wide range of simulated ECG signals is
demonstrated using this Analyzer test feature. Several variables are user
selectable to best simulate actual “real life” conditions.

Simulated ECG Rate

The Analyzer outputs either asystole or a normal sinus rhythm (NSR) at rates
covering the bradycardia, normal, and tachycardia range.

PR Interval

The PR interval of the above ECG waveform complex is also user-selectable.

Adjustable Threshold Level

When the measured pacemaker output current exceeds the threshold amplitude
setting (in milliamperes), the Analyzer outputs a simulated ventricular “paced”
beat. The pacemaker output current level required to effect “ventricular
capture” is selectable by the user.

Operational Modes

Three simulated operational modes are available in the Analyzer

Continuous

The user selects a rate, and the Analyzer generates a simulated ECG signal.
The threshold interaction with the pacemaker is observed.
