3. Release tension on chain (A) until chain can be

removed from small sprocket (B). Refer to

4. Remove chain from large sprocket (C).

1. Install chain (A) onto large sprocket (C), and then onto

small sprocket (B).

2. Tighten chain. Refer to

Adjusting Auger Drive Chain

Tension, page 115

3. Liberally apply SAE Multi-Purpose Grease to chain.

4. Close endshield. Refer to Section:

The drive chain tension is set at the factory, and should be checked after three hours of operation, and at regular
intervals thereafter.

There should be 1/2–3/4 in. (13–19 mm) of deflection (A)
with 10 lbf (44.5 N) force applied at mid-span.

DANGER

Stop engine and remove key from ignition before
leaving operator’s seat for any reason. A child or
even a pet could engage an idling machine.

1. Lower header to ground, shut down combine, and

remove key from ignition.
