Lubrication

WARNING

To avoid personal injury, before servicing header or opening drive covers, follow procedures in

4.1 Prepare

Lubricate the machine after every 100 hours of operation.

The greasing points are marked on the machine by decals
showing a grease gun (A) and grease interval in hours of
operation (B).

Log hours of operation and use the Maintenance Record
provided to keep a record of scheduled maintenance.

4.4.1

Greasing Procedure

WARNING

Stop combine engine and remove key before making adjustments to machine. A child or even a pet could
engage the drive.

1. Use the recommended lubricants specified in this manual. See

4.2.2 Recommended Fluids and Lubricants,

page 85

.

2. Wipe grease fitting with a clean cloth before greasing, to avoid injecting dirt and grit.

3. Inject grease through fitting with grease gun until grease overflows fitting, except where noted.

4. Leave excess grease on fitting to keep out dirt.

5. Replace any loose or broken fittings immediately.

6. If fitting will not take grease, remove and clean thoroughly. Also clean lubricant passageway. Replace fitting if

necessary.
