DeviceNet Information
Product Identification
Product Type
Both the Cat. No. 198-DN and 198-DNG modules will support the communication adapter
profile. The device type is 12 (0x0C).
Product Code
The DeviceNet Control module, Cat. No. 198-DN, has a product code of 67. and Cat. No.
198-DNG has a product code of 98.
DeviceNet Implementation
The DeviceNet implementation in MDSA DeviceNet module is compliant with the
DeviceNet Specification version 2.0 errata 3. It resides on a DeviceNet network as a Group 2
slave type device. Explicit messaging is supported for device configuration on the network.
Polled I/O messaging, Change of State (COS) messaging, and Cyclic I/O messaging are
supported to pass control/status from/to a DeviceNet master device.
An auto-baud rate identification algorithm is executed on powerup (if enabled).
A Group 4 recovery of faulted node algorithm is available for execution if the device fails its
powerup Duplicate MAC ID test and the address switches are set so that the MAC ID is
software settable.
