Mounted on top of the cabinet is an air exhaust hood. The exhaust hood
must be installed to prevent foreign objects from entering the drive.

Output Grounding Network Replacement

PowerFlex 7000 drives may have either a grounding network or a ground
filter in place of the grounding network.

The number of capacitors will vary depending on the system voltage.

1.

Ensure there is no power to the equipment.

To prevent electrical shock, ensure the main
power has been disconnected before working on
the capacitor. Verify that all circuits are voltage
free using a hot stick or appropriate voltage-
measuring device. Failure to do so may result in
injury or death.

2. Note the position of the leads.

3. Remove the 6.4-mm (¼ inch) hardware and disconnect the leads

connected to the terminals.

4. Four brackets are used to secure the capacitor. Loosen the four screws

at the base of the brackets and lift the capacitor out.

5. Place the new capacitor and tighten the screws securely.

6. Replace the ring lugs and 6.4-mm (¼ inch) hardware. (See Figure 5.32)
