SCANport Command Interface
Chapter Objectives This chapter includes a description of the SCANport command

SCANport Overview SCANport is a Rockwell Automation peripheral communication
network which is used by the 8720MC to communicate with the
integral HIM, a remote HIM, a PC running DriveExplorer in a
Windows environment or an Allen-Bradley PLC. SCANport is a
multi-channel communication network which supports multiple
nodes or “ports”. The 8720MC has an internal SCANport connection
point and an external SCANport connection point. The integrated HIM
option is connected to the internal Port 6 connector as shown in
Figure 4.1.
