802.1Qbg—Amendment to 802.1Q. 802.1Qbg supports edge virtual bridging (EVB).
VEB—Virtual Ethernet Bridging, a solution provided by 802.1Qbg. In the VEB solution, the ports that

connect an edge switch to physical servers do not support the RR mode.
VEPA—Virtual Edge Port Aggregator, a solution provided by 802.1Qbg. In the VEPA solution, the ports

that connect an edge switch to physical servers support the RR mode.
Multichannel—A solution provided by 802.1Qbg. In the multichannel solution, multiple logical channels

are virtualized between a physical server and an edge switch.
RR—Reflection Relay, a forwarding mode of a port. A frame received on a port that supports the RR
mode can be forwarded out of the same port.
VDP—VSI Discovery and Configuration Protocol. VDP is used to configure and associate VSIs between

physical servers and edge switches.
EVB—Edge Virtual Bridging. EVB is the environment where physical servers contain multiple virtual end
stations that participate in the bridge LAN.
VSI—Virtual Station Interface, which directly connects a vSwitch to a VM.
VSI Manager—Manger of VSI Types.
