Configuration example

Network requirements

The R&D department and the marketing department of an enterprise belong to the subnet 10.1.0.0/16

and 10.2.0.0/16, respectively.
Configure a VSI Type to allow the R&D department and the marketing department to access the file
server of the enterprise and apply the following network policies to the two departments:

The downlink CIR and PIR of the R&D department are 4 Mbps and 10 Mbps, respectively. The
uplink rate is not limited.

The downlink CIR and PIR of the Marketing department are 5 Mbps and 10 Mbps, respectively.
The uplink rate is not limited.

The priorities for packets sent by the file server to the R&D department and the marketing
department are 4 and 5, respectively.

Configuration procedure

1.

Create VSI Type A.

a.

Click the Resource tab.

b.

From the navigation tree, select VAN Connection Manager > VSI Type.

c.

Click Add.
The Add VSI Type window appears.

d.

Configure basic information and parameters for VSI Type A as shown in

Table 6
