VCM supports the following processes for connection deployment and undeployment:

Offline—Connection undeployment process. VCM removes connection configurations, including
QoS, ACL, and VLAN, from the edge switch to which the VM is connected. If this process is
triggered by VM migration, VCM removes connection configurations from the source edge switch.

Online—Connection deployment process. VCM deploys connection configurations, including QoS,
ACL, and VLAN, to the edge switch to which the VM is connected. If this process is triggered by

VM migration, VCM deploys connection configurations to the destination edge switch.

Viewing the migration list

1.

Click the Resource tab.

2.

From the navigation tree, select VAN Connection Manager > Life Cycle Report.

3.

On the Life Cycle Report page, click the Migration History tab.
All VM migration records appear in the migration history list.
The list includes the following parameters:

{

VM—Name of the migrated VM.

{

vNIC—MAC address of the vNIC. If the VM has multiple vNICs, this field displays all MAC
addresses of these vNICs.

{

Source Switch—Device label of the edge switch that connects to the physical server where the
VM resides before the VM migration.

{

Source Interface—Interface of the edge switch the VM connects to before the VM migration.

{

Source Physical Server—Device label of the physical server where the VM resides before the
VM migration.

{

Destination Switch—Device label of the edge switch that connects to the physical server where
the VM resides after the VM migration.

{

Destination Interface—Interface of the edge switch the VM connects to after the VM migration.

{

Destination Physical Server—Device label of the physical server where the VM resides after the
VM migration.

{

Migration Time—Time when VM migration ends.

{

Migration Result—Migration result of the VM network configuration. The migration of a VM
network configuration always contains multiple operations. According to the results of these

operations, the migration result can be:

Success—All operations to migrate the VM network configuration are successful.

Partial Success—Part of the operations performed to migrate the VM network configuration
failed. Click the View icon

in the Operation field to view the failed operations and the

cause of failure.

Failure—All the operations performed to migrate the VM network configuration failed.
