3. after a change of ownership, unless a complete service history is provided, including

maintenance and inspection records.
The structural inspection shall be carried out under the direction of a professional engi‑
neer.
The inspection shall:

1. consider the service history of the aerial platform in terms of hours of service, severity

and number, and variability of users;

2. review the inspection and maintenance record of the aerial platform;
3. verify the effectiveness of all operating controls;
4. perform a visual inspection of the aerial platform;
5. consider recommendations of the manufacturer relevant to the aerial platform, including

manufacturer's safety bulletins.

E‑ MAINTENANCE

Before adjustments and repairs are started on an aerial platform, the following precautions
shall be taken as applicable:
1. The power plant shall be stopped, and the starting means shall be rendered inoperative.
2. All controls in the OFF position and all operating systems shall be secured from inadver‑

tent motion by brakes, blocks, or other means.

3. Elevating and rotating assembly and platform shall be lowered to the full down position,

if possible, or otherwise secured by blocking or cribbing to prevent dropping.

4. The hydraulic oil pressure shall be relieved from all hydraulic circuits before the loose‑

ning or removal of hydraulic components.

5. Safety props or latches shall be installed where applicable.
6. Other precautions shall be undertaken as specified on the Use and Maintenance

manual.

ENERAL PERIODIC CONTROL

After the first 2000 hours a general machine control must be carried out at a JLG‑certified
centre, which checks machine status and fills in the form in Appendix 1 in this manual.
All successive controls must be carried out every 1000 hours.
Contact your dealer to identify the JLG‑certified after‑sales centre.
