8.2 SAFETY STANDARDS REGARDING TRANSPORT

The JLG platform has high manoeuvrability and stability even in the traversing phase.
Despite this we recommend that the user operates with care even when carrying out the sim‑
plest operations.
For example, follow the procedure below to climb onto the lorry:

park the lorry or trailer on a flat surface,

make sure that the ramps do not exceed a maximum slope of 15°

make sure that the ramps and the trailer have the capacity to support the machine and
are free from debris or slippery material;

if the vehicles are not specifically equipped, place support blocks under the ramps.

Position the ramps parallel to each other at a distance equal to that between the tracks;

Ascend the ramps, proceeding with the machine orientated with the cage towards the
rear part;

In proximity of the arrival surface ALWAYS check that the JIB arm is COMPLETELY
CLOSED. Then proceed with great care in order to prevent strong jolts in the gradient
change between ramps and the arrival surface;

Position the machine in a way that none of its parts escape from the clearance of the
vehicle.

Descend by following the indications and prescriptions stated above.

ALWAYS load/unload the machine with the track widened.

During the traversing phases and the gradient change phases, pay attention not to
damage the safety devices positioned under the basket.

If the change of gradient should result excessive, change the inclination of the ramps or if
this is not possible, use longer ramps. It is also possible to activate the jib arm as described
earlier.

It is recommended to carry out the machine load/unload operations using the
remote control at the side of the same, keeping at a MINIMUM distance of 1
metre.
